Skin Types

Highly trained facial therapists will cater to your needs on an individual basis. You will realise even before your treatment begins that we do not ”go through the motions” but care about what is best for you. We can cater for oily, dry, acne-prone, sensitive & combination skin types. We can also tailor treatments to be nut-free if required.

Microderm Treatments

Our Microdermabrasion treatment exfoliates, deep cleanses and stimulates the skin safely without the use of chemicals.

The treatment is performed using a vacuum suction machine that blasts tiny crystals onto the surface of the skin on your face or body. This removes debris and dry skin cells to resurface the skin and stimulates blood flow which rejuvenates the skin by causing it to produce more collagen and elastin. This can also improve absorption levels of skincare products.

microdermabrasion

What is Microderm?
Microdermabrasion is one of the most popular facial treatments, due to it being non-invasive whilst also having no down-time. It exfoliates, deep cleanses and stimulates the skin safely, naturally and without the use of chemicals. Another great addition is that the treatment is 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

The treatment is performed using a vacuum suction machine. It blasts tiny crystals onto the surface of the skin on your face, hands or body. This removes debris and dry skin cells, therefore, resurfaces the skin and stimulates blood flow, rejuvenating the skin by causing it to produce more collagen and elastin.

Add some luxury…
We also offer a luxury option which consists of a calming face mask and décolletage massage. We recommend a course of three or more depending on your skin condition and goals.

What skin problems can it help with?
Some common skin complaints that can be improved or eliminated by microdermabrasion include:

  • Fine lines
  • Acne scarring
  • Clogged pores / Blackheads
  • Dry skin
  • Enlarged pores
  • Pigmentation
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Early stretch-marks

How does microdermabrasion work?

As well as blasting away dead skin cells and debris to reveal fresh and glowing skin, our microdermabrasion treatments can also have several other benefits to your skin’s health and appearance:

Improves circulation – good circulation means good health. Microdermabrasion can increase blood flow within your skin, which means a better supply of oxygen and nutrients. This helps to improve your skin’s internal health which will make it glow on the outside.

Increase levels of collagen and elastin – microdermabrasion can stimulate your skin to produce more collagen, resulting in softer, plumper, younger looking skin.

Improve absorption of skincare products – once you have removed all the dry skin, dirt and debris from your skin, you will find that you can achieve better results with your existing skincare products.  Microdermabrasion can cause a huge improvement to your skin’s ability to absorb these products. Our customers often request a face mask at the end of their microdermabrasion treatment for this very reason.

For your safety, please advise Nataya Beauty of any allergies or relevant medical conditions prior to your appointment. If you are pregnant you are strongly advised to seek guidance from a medical professional before booking a treatment.

  • Roaccutane – causes thinning of the skin. Wait 6 months from final use.
  • Auto-immune diseases

  • Impetigo – Highly contagious and can spread bacteria making conditions worse.
  • Rosacea – cannot be treated with Microderm.

If you are unsure about any of these restrictions, please call us, we are always here to help you.

One of the best things you can do before your facial appointment is to leave it all to us. Don’t try to exfoliate before arriving, don’t try to extract any blackheads – we’ll get your skin looking and feeling. There are a few pointers to take note of ahead of time:

  • The week before your appointment, avoid any strong facial treatments and cease the use of any exfoliation products a few days prior, as we will be performing a deep exfoliation as part of your treatment
  • Try to avoid prolonged exposure to strong sunlight / sun beds for at least five days before your facial.
  • On the day of your facial, wear some comfortable clothing that you can easily relax in. If your facial includes a neck & shoulder massage, you will be asked to remove any jewelry and clothing / bra straps from around the neck & shoulder areas. Choose clothing that is easy to change in and out of.

If you are unsure about any of the above, speak to our skincare specialists about any concerns. A full consultation will be given prior to any facial treatments.

Here’s a few pointers to help you keep your face feeling fresh until your next appointment is due.

  • Avoid wearing make-up for at least 6 hours after your facial treatment. If you must, use mineral based make-up.
  • Avoid direct heat (intense sunlight or sunbeds) and indirect heat (saunas, hot baths or showers) for 48 hours after treatment
  • Apply suncream with a minimum SPF rating of 30 to protect the skin from harmful rays that can dehydrate, cause sun damage / sunspots and age the skin
  • Do not apply any other exfoliating skincare products or undertake another facial treatment for 72 hours after your facial
  • Cleanse, tone & moisturise daily. This keeps your face free from grime / pollution, balances your PH levels and prevents dehydrated skin keeping it soft and supple
  • It is very important to remove all make-up at the end of each day, as it can cause extensive damage to your skin overnight. Your skin attempts to rejuvenate during your sleep, but make-up severely hinders this process.
  • Do not apply perfume or perfumed products to the treated area within 48 hours
  • Drink plenty of water! The recommended daily guideline is 2 – 3 litres per day. Your skin is made up of 64% water, and it only takes a small amount of dehydration to stop the cells from performing their best, so skin can become tight, dry or flaky if unnourished.
